基隆市東光國小發展樂樂棒球與Teeball，連年獲得教育部全國樂樂棒球基隆區代表權，和第六屆亞洲盃Teeball國際邀請賽第三名殊榮。五二○獲邀總統就職表演，充份表現台灣精神。
東光國小發展樂樂棒球與Teeball，原本默默無聞的學校與新興的運動，在東光國小陳俊光老師一手推動，轉眼間已十餘有年。由無到有，篳路籃縷苦心經營，至今樂樂棒球蓬勃發展。
東光國小小型學校資源欠缺情形下，仍征戰南北，屢屢獲得佳績，並連年獲得教育部全國樂樂棒球基隆區代表權，與第六屆亞洲盃Teeball國際邀請賽第三名的殊榮，實屬難得。
東光國小棒球隊所代表的是「臺灣精神」，除了學生對於棒球的熱愛外，更體現了咱臺灣人在艱毅的環境中不低頭汽車借款的奮戰精神。此次五二○獲邀總統就職表演，是主辦總統就職典禮單位，欲尋求能代表臺灣精神的團體演出。
東光棒球隊學生為了籌措到日本比賽旅費，下定決心，設定募款的目標，勇往直前，過程雖然辛苦，但也為學生上人生最好的一課，小小年紀就有這種努力不懈的精神，著實令人感佩，準總統蔡英文獲悉該校學生經歷不屈不撓的歷程，特禮邀該校共襄盛舉。
這次，獲邀總統就職慶典表演，學生相當興奮，並加緊練習，期待在典禮當天，將「臺灣精神」充份表現給中外嘉賓欣賞，並為該校球隊留下輝煌一頁。
